Dan Flynn is a native Texan and a candidate for State Representative in House District 2. He brings
a perspective to the office that is of Vision, Values and Leadership. He is a principled Conservative
fighting to maintain the principles expressed in our Texas and American heritage. He is a strong
believer of the philosophy of limited government and the rights of the American people.
Dan and his wife, Susan, are active members of the Grand Saline First Church of the Nazarene. They
live on their cattle ranch in Van, Texas. Susan works for American Airlines and has been a loyal
supporter and partner in Dan' s life and all of his political endeavors. He spent over thirty-five
years in the banking industry, working his way as a clerk and Assistant State Bank Examiner to serving
as Deputy Banking Commissioner for the State of Texas from 1976 to 1981. He has served at every
level in banking including president with ownership of banks in Dallas and East Texas. He served as
a MRC Financial Consultant for the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C., and in many
parts of the World. Served as Chief of Staff for State Representative Kenny Marchant during the
741th Legislative Session. You'll find him actively involved in local communities serving as officer
and director in many social clubs in Van Zandt County as well as a small business owner and publisher
of the local newspaper in the Eastern part of Van Zandt County. Dan served his country from 1962-1968
with the 361st Infantry Division, 100st Infantry and the 81st Army. Dan has always been willing to
serve his community and his country. When Van Zandt County called he was willing to serve as the
Interim County Judge in 2000.
He has always pledged to open bridges of communication to all citizens, giving opportunity for more
people to be involved in the process. He believes and helps bring conservative values, of limited
government, and the rights to the people. He has done this by working on the local grassroots level
with state, county, city and school board officials.
