Election Workers

The Van Zandt County Republican Party is looking for people to volunteer for election work in our upcoming elections. The work is precise but not difficult. The election workers’ day is from 6am until 8pm.

An election judge is responsible for the running of the polling location. There are eighteen locations in the 4 commissioner precincts. Workers are paid between $8.50 and $12 per hour depending on their job and the type of election. Judges are trained in procedures and paperwork processing, usually 2 weeks prior to the election. Each polling station is staffed with multiple workers. The duties include signing in registered voters, explaining voting procedure and use of voting equipment, providing ballots, and monitoring the conduct of the election.
